FAQ

How do I become a certified Alma administrator?

While it is not necessary for each campus to have someone on their library staff who is certified in Alma administration (OLS Systems manages all of the configuration for each library), you may find it helpful to go through the Alma administration certification process to better understand how Alma works.

Additionally, becoming certified in Alma administration earns you the following user roles in your Alma IZ:

  • Acquisitions Administrator
  • Analytics Administrator
  • Catalog Administrator
  • Fulfillment Administrator: Read Only
  • General System Administrator: Read Only
  • Letter Administrator: Read Only
  • Printout Queue Manager
  • Repository Administrator
  • User Administrator: Read Only

Note that "Discovery Administrator" does not have a "Read Only" option so it is not being included in the admin profile at this time.

If you're interested, complete the Alma administration certification process and submit your certificate to OLS Systems via a ticket to request the local Alma administrator user profile.
