FAQ

How do I troubleshoot loans?

You might have questions about loans like the following:

  • Why does an item have the wrong due date?
  • Why isn't this item requestable?
  • How much will an overdue fine be if someone returns an item now?
  • Can visitors check out this item?
  • And more!

You don't have to actually check something out to yourself to test a loan. The Fulfillment Configuration Utility will show you all the policies for any patron + item.

1. Go to Fulfillment > Advanced Tools - Loans > Fulfillment Configuration Utility.

2. Look up a patron in the "Patron Identifier" field. Click the hamburger icon to do an advanced search.

3. Look up an item in the "Barcode" field. Click the hamburger icon to do an advanced search.

4. Click OK.

5. The resulting display shows:

a. Due date if the item would be loaned now

b. A box where you can check the fine that would be charged on a specified return date

c. All the policies associated with the loan

You can also go to the other tabs to view Request, Booking, and Overdue and Lost Loan Profiles.
