FAQ

Can I view things that have been deleted in Alma?

If you have the Repository Manager role, you can view the following deleted inventory in Alma:

  • Bibliographic records
  • Collections (not Electronic Collections)
  • Digital Files (not currently in use at CUNY)
  • Digital Remote Representations (not currently in use at CUNY)
  • Digital Representations (not currently in use at CUNY)
  • Electronic portfolios
  • Holdings records
  • Physical items

You can restore (i.e. undelete) any inventory that was deleted less than a year ago.

1. Go to Resources > Advanced Tools > Managed Deleted Repository.

2. In the "Find" dropdown menu, select a search type.

3. Choose one of the "Search criteria" from the dropdown menu:

  • Deleted range allows you to select a range of dates when the inventory was deleted. For older deletions, you can only search one month at a time.
  • Deleted by allows you to select a staff member or a Job ID.
  • MMS ID/PID allows you to search by an identifier.
    • MMD ID is for bibliographic records and holdings records.
    • PID is for collections, files, portfolios, and items.
