FAQ

Which vendors can be set up for EDI in Alma?

Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) is a standardized way of sending information between an institution and its vendors. EDI allows for purchase orders, claims, and cancellations to be sent from Alma to a vendor and for invoices and order responses to be sent from the vendor to Alma.

Any vendor that supports the EDIFACT standard should be compatible with Alma, but only the following have been successfully verified by Ex Libris:

  • Appel du Livre
  • Baker & Taylor
  • Casalini Libri
  • Coutts (ingramcontent)
  • EBSCO
  • Harrassowitz
  • LM Information Delivery
  • Midwest Library Service
  • Prenax
  • ProQuest Ebook Central
  • Teldan
  • William S. Hein & Co., Inc
  • WT Cox Information Services
  • YBP

If you want to set up EDI in Alma, you need the following information from the vendor:

  • Vendor EDI code
  • Vendor EDI type
  • S/FTP connection details
  • EDI code for your institution or library (if different codes are used for different libraries in a single institution)

Send this information to OLS along with a description of what you want to do with EDI (e.g., send orders, receive invoices, etc.).
