FAQ

What is the difference between "Save and Continue" and "Order Now"?

When you are creating a purchase order line (POL) in Alma, there are two menu options that seem similar: "Order Now" and "Save and Continue."

Order Now Save and Continue
Acquisition Method: Purchase at Vendor System Acquisition Method: Purchase
Saves the information in the POL Saves the information in the POL
Does not check review rules Checks review rules
Continues to the following stage of the workflow Continues to the purchasing workflow where it is normalized and validated before being packaged
Staff can choose whether PO lines are automatically or manually packaged into a PO Automatically packages PO lines into a PO
Nothing is sent to the vendor Order is sent to the vendor
