FAQ

There are different numbers of titles in the IZ and CZ. How do I sync them up?

Problem

When you activate an electronic collection of the type "Aggregator package" or "Selective package" from the Community Zone (CZ), you can choose whether to have Alma automatically activate any new portfolio that is added to the package. For instance, EBSCOhost might add titles to some of its packages in the future, and you want to ensure that you will have access to them when they become available in the CZ.

Sometimes those portfolios don't get automatically activated, even though the "Automatically activate new portfolios" box is checked. In that case, the number of portfolios in the IZ and CZ will differ:

Solution

Check Settings

Before you start, check the settings in the electronic collection.

1. Search for the electronic collection.

2. Go to (More actions) > Edit service.

3. Verify that the box for "Activate new portfolios associated with service automatically?" is checked. This does not guarantee that your electronic portfolios will stay in sync, but it is a major factor.

Add Portfolios

1. Search for the electronic collection.

2. Go to (More actions) > Edit Full Text Portfolios.

3. Click Add > Add All Portfolios from Community.

4. Click Confirm.
