FAQ

How do I save the results from a search in Alma?

In Alma, you can save the results of a search by creating a logical set. Logical sets are dynamic—they automatically include new records that match the saved search criteria.

You can create logical sets for the following record types:

  • All Titles
  • Authorities
  • Citations
  • Collections
  • Courses
  • Digital Files (not used at CUNY)
  • Digital Titles (not used at CUNY)
  • Electronic Collections
  • Electronic Portfolios
  • Electronic Titles
  • Physical Holdings
  • Physical Items
  • PO Lines
  • Reading Lists
  • Users
  • Vendors

To save a search as a logical set:

1. Run a search in the Institution Zone (IZ).

2. Click Create and Filter Set.

3. In the pop-up window, enter a Set Name and optional description.

4. Choose whether to check the following boxes:

a. Private – Only you can view the set. Leave unchecked to make the set visible to others in your IZ.

b. Active – Required if you plan to run a job on this set. Leave unchecked if not.

5. Click Save.

To view or manage saved sets:

1. Go to Admin > Manage Jobs and Sets > Manage Sets.

2. From there, you can view, edit, delete, or run jobs on your sets.
