FAQ

How do I indicate that a patron claims a loaned item was returned?

The purpose of the "Claimed Returned" status is to prevent fines from occurring and prevent loans from changing to "Lost." You should search for the item on your shelves, then either mark it "Found" or "Missing," depending on the results of your search.

1. Go to Fulfillment > Checkout/Checkin > Manage Patron Services.

2. Select the Loans tab.

3. In the "Loan Display" drop-down list, select All loans.

4. In the row actions of the loan, select Claimed Return.

5. Add an optional note, then click OK.

The "Loan Status" is now "Claim returned."

It is not possible to make an item Claimed Returned once it has been marked as Lost. In the event that a patron approaches to advise that a resource is returned when that resource is in the Lost status, we recommend marking the loan as Found and then as Claimed Returned.
