What are the different ways I can change a loan?

Loan (Normal, Overdue, or Renewed)
  • Change Due Date
    • Item is still on the patron’s account, but the loan period is extended
    • If the item was accruing overdue fines, those will be charged to the patron
  • Claimed Returned
    • Item is still on the patron’s account, but the loan status is changed to Claim Returned
    • The idea is that you would use this status while searching for the item, then either change the item to Found or Missing, depending on whether you find it or not
  • Delete Loan
    • Item is no longer on the patron’s account
    • The item status changes to In Place
    • If the item was accruing overdue fines, those will be charged to the patron
  • Lost
    • Item is still on the patron’s account, but the loan status is changed to Lost
    • If the item was accruing overdue fines, those will be charged to the patron
    • Lost and replacement fees will be charged to the patron
  • Renew
    • Item is still on the patron’s account, but the loan period is extended
    • If the item was accruing overdue fines, those will be charged to the patron
Claimed Returned
  • Delete Loan
    • Item is no longer on the patron’s account
    • The item status changes to In Place
    • If the item was accruing overdue fines, those will be charged to the patron
  • Found
    • Item is still on the patron’s account, but the loan status is changed to Normal
    • Lost item replacement fee will be removed
    • Lost item process fee will be charged to the patron
  • Lost
    • Item is still on the patron’s account, but the loan status is changed to Lost
    • If the item was accruing overdue fines, those will be charged to the patron
    • Lost and replacement fees will be charged to the patron
  • Renew
    • Item is still on the patron’s account, but the loan period is extended
    • If the item was accruing overdue fines, those will be charged to the patron
Lost
  • Delete Loan
    • Item is no longer on the patron’s account
    • The item status changes to Missing
    • If the item was accruing overdue fines, those will be charged to the patron
  • Found
    • Item is still on the patron’s account, but the loan status is changed to Normal
    • Lost item replacement fee will be removed
    • Lost item process fee will be charged to the patron
  • Close Lost Loan (only available through a job)
    • Item is no longer on the patron’s account
    • The item status changes to Missing
    • If the item was accruing overdue fines, those will be charged to the patron
